Unfortunately at this time, I will not be able to take on any more custom orders, however I am still happy to accomodate adjustments to sizes if you see a piece that needs to be a different length.

Thank you again, Etsy, it’s been one heck of a ride - and I promise to come back for another round as soon as I am able! :)

Funky

Category: LuckyLibra Designs. Posted by Lucky at 2:21 pm.

I woke up foul today.

I suppose it didn’t help that I went to bed at damn near 3am, and in a “out of sorts” mindset. Had a weird end to the night….bleh.

I spent about three hours making a charm bracelet for the EAST Winter Wonderland Contest. EAST is a “Street Team” on Etsy that I joined. They are a group of Earth Path (earth based religions) folks that are just amazing. Street Teams are pretty nifty. They are a bit like “cliques” I guess, but they are, for the most part, a way to cross-promote, give and get advice on your craft and business - and just fun to have a place to chat with people of like mind. We’ve come to discover that there are quite a few “Easties” in our neck of the woods here in Oregon, would be fun to meet up with a few of them at somepoint. :) I guess its sorta like having an online Coven. LOL!

Etsy is going pretty well. We have about 200 pieces online, and are selling at a somewhat consistent rate. All of our customers have left stellar feedback for us, and we seem to have been embraced in the Forums/Community at Etsy with open arms. It’s kinda nice to be around other crafters, so many ideas and thoughts to try out! We’ve also been able to snag some great findings and beads and such, as many Sellers will “destash” stuff they no longer want or are using at “clearance” pricing. Often its only a few speciality beads (instead of a full bag) or a “half strand”, but thats really great, when you are unsure if you will really like something, or just want to experiment. :)

I have this weekend “off”, as regards craft shows. Next weekend (starting the Friday after Thanksgiving) we have a three day show “Eugene Home Crafters Holiday Show”, downtown at the Fairgrounds. We have high hopes that we will make a good sized dent in our inventory. We’ve really come along way, as regards quality, packaging, displays and just over-all “craft show sense” over the last year - so it would be nice to see some of that turn into sales. THe following weekend we will be at the same venue for a two day event. Then, the next weekend, we will spend a Saturday in Haley’s Middle School gym, for Shasta’s Holiday Bazaar. We don’t expect much from that, as the Highschool one we went to last weekend totally blew chunks, but its a good way to experiment, get out of the house/s for a bit, and support the schools. We most likely will NOT rent a booth at either school next year - though it would be fun to visit them for shopping reasons.

Work is driving me crazy. It’s totally slow, and totally boring. I find myself trying to make even the simplest of requests “stretch” in order to have something to do for more than an hour. I have “clean up” and document writing I COULD do, I just havn’t felt the inspiration to do so. Bleh. I’m hoping the numbers are better this quarter, so that Symantec’s nice Christmas present to me is a full time/perm job offer at the end of December. *fingers crossed*

I guess thats it for now, I need to go set up my light box and get some pictures taken, now that the day is half over. Blergh. Gotta love Eugene in the Fall - the rain just makes me want to hibernate. *sigh*

Category: Good Thing, LuckyLibra Designs. Posted by Lucky at 10:05 am.

This past weekend was LuckyLibra Design’s second show/gig. We had a tremendous time! We spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday in lovely Silverton Oregon, amongst the trees and surrounded by great vendors and uber friendly people. I really like being at the venue. The park is SO pretty. Trees EVERYwhere. It has a small town feel, everyone knows everyone, everyone seems genuine and kind-hearted.

We did fantastic as regards sales. Our first trip up there to the Strawberry Festival was a lesson well learned. We applied what we learned and reaped the benefits this time around. Our sales came to just over $500 for the weekend. Not too shabby! As before, we gathered MANY compliments and praise - both from customers, “lookie loos” and fellow vendors. It was such a rush to see people walk up, fondle the jewelry and proclaim their like for it. “They like it, they REALLY like it!” Such an awesome feeling to have hand-crafted something from your heart and have it reach out to someone you don’t even know! We got hugs, freebies and shared laughter with the other vendors. Met some really neat people, some some really STRANGE people and just had a general blast!

As regards the subject line. This was just one of the many moments that I deemed as “blog worthy”. Sunday afternoon was pretty slow, but we still had a steady stream of customers stopping by. One couple approached, with a small dog tucked under the “Mrs.” arm. She began to look over our bracelet selection, picked up one that was covered in mini bell charms and slid it over the head of her dog….

I just stared in awe, as the woman turned to show her husband the handy work and proclaimed, “Isn’t she so cute!”. The husband retored that he had ALREADY bought the dog SEVERAL things, and wasn’t about to buy any more. So, the woman proceeded to try to pull the bracelet OFF the dog’s head. It of course was a bit more difficult to get off then on, what with ears getting bent and stuck and such. She finally managed to do so, flopped it back on the table and they left.

*blink*

*blink*

“Did that REALLY just HAPPEN?”. Broke into laughter and looked the bracelet over, to ensure there was no lingering fuzz stuck to it.

How strange.

We arrived tired, sore and exhilirated late Sunday night. I managed to unload the truck with Dan’s help, but most of the stuff is still piled up. I’ve never been so worn out! My goodness! I slept like a BRICK Sunday night! It was so very worth it, the tired, the sore, the long hours, all of it.

There is no denying it. We now have “the biz” in our blood, and are already looking for some Fall/Holiday events here locally to attend.

First, we have to work on replenishing all that stock….that of course means….

SHOPPING! :D

I am tellin’ ya. Its the best gig ever. Sitting outside in a beautiful venue, under a tent, beads laid out, (we did many a custom order and created many new pieces in the “spare time” during the show), people watching a plenty, and getting to play and sell jewelry all day. What more could a girl ask for?

Coffee?

Heh, we brought a pot with us - such addicts are we. ;)

Look forward to some new pieces arriving at our etsy shop this weekend.  Now that Dan is home, I can dedicate some time to getting new pieces listed. We have quite a bit to put up and quite a bit more to make! Never forget that we will happily do custom orders, so if you have need for a special piece - just give us a shout!

Strawberry Festival in Silverton Oregon

Category: LuckyLibra Designs. Posted by Lucky at 11:09 am.

Well by now most of you have probably seen the pictures I sent from the Strawberry Festival. The Silverton, OR Strawberry Festival was the first show/event that LuckyLibra Designs attended!

Overall it was a good first gig. We didn’t sell a TON, but we learned a lot, and that was very valuable experience to take home. We received praise and accolades from customers, passersby as well as the event coordinators and fellow vendors. That’s always a good feeling! We passed out loads of business cards, so that might equate into some future sales through our Etsy.com storefront, which sure would be nice!

The park was really pretty, tons of trees. The weather was a mite bit chilly, but we had jackets and loads of coffee to help with that :) We will be at the same park the first weekend in August for a three day event called “Homer Davenport Days”. We are really looking forward to it! We have a ton of ideas to work with, got some new nifty displays, found a place that we can get even more, which will equate into an even more professional look - and not so much like a grown up lemonade stand look! :)

I am going to do a bunch of photography tonight and get probably another 20 or so necklaces, sets, bracelets put up on the Etsy.com store front. I also have a bunch of cell phone leashes and a pile of earrings! Whew! Fun fun! :)

Anywho, that’s enough of that for now. Its quarter end at Symantec and things are starting to heat up. Oye. Best get on with my lunch while I still have time too! :)
