Wow.

I am so bored, I’ve actually “run out” of places to surf. *sigh*

We are in a MAJOR lull at work, and I think the lack of things to occupy my brain, might, just MIGHT kill me. Slowly, apparently. It’s not that I am NOT grateful for the breathing room and slower pace. Goddess knows we’ve been full throttle for pretty much the last 6 months. But, MY GOD. I’ve pretty much resorted to rewriting process documents, creating step by steps and the like. All of which is needed and useful, none of which is inspiring, or even captivating. Not. In. The. Least.

I keep running through lists of things that I NEED to do at home, but unfortunately very few equate to something that is easily done HERE. Bother.

That being said, I DID stumble across quite a little discovery (through a co-workers mention). Its this site: www.etsy.com Go ahead, check it out….I will wait. :)

Nifty, no? From my research, the company is based in Brooklyn, NY and has only been around since late 2005. Its QUITE the breath of fresh air from eBay. eBay is great for a good many things, but for items that are homemade/artsy-craftsy, its become over-crowded, over-priced and generally ick. I’ve created a store for myself. Here’s the link to my storefront: www.luckylibra.etsy.com

I think I will put a little image link over on my sidebar. *ponders*

In other news, back to the world of work for a moment, I was suprised late last week with a raise! I’m still a temp, so that sucks, but the raise is surely appreciated! I had been contracted through “Personnel Source” (as is Dan) and what they did was move me to their “Premier” contractor, “PRO Services”. What does this mean, long term? Not quite sure. Though it does seem highly possible that me moving to FTE will be quicker and easier now that I am with PRO. THe other bonuses are that PRO offers direct deposit and medical insurance. Some calls to their benefits center indicate that medical insurance is still out of reach, being about $230 per week (we are paid weekly) but the Vision and Dental for the family would only run me about $30 a week, so thats not too bad, considering it would be for all 5 of us. I know that Dan and I both NEED new glasses, and Haley and Thomas are certainly not far behind. We all need a good long visit to the dentist as well. Dan and I have both been told we need root scaling/planing done to all four quadrants, which in CA was going to run us about $1200 a piece. Here it looks like it might only set us back around $300 each or so. Hopefully I can JUST get the Dental and Vision plans. Have to wait a few more weeks to pass my 30 day “probation” period to find out more. *fingers crossed*

I’m taking a small trip next month! Can’t say where or when or what-for HERE, so ask me in email if you REALLY want to know :) I will be sure to post pictures and provide a full report ;)

Well, I guess I will go construct the weekly shopping list. Sounds like fun, no? Heh.

We all have things about our friends that make us slightly envious. Not in a bad way, but in a ‘Wow! I wish I had that person’s hair/eyes/money/relationship/toenails/whatever.’

So tell me what about me makes you envy me. . . then post this in your LJ/blog/MySpace and see what makes me envious of you.
